Opera at UAA!
UAA’s very first Opera Ensemble announces an exciting inaugural
season, featuring 12 of the music department’s most talented
voice majors. The main production features two double-bill performances
of Leonard Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti, and Giancarlo Menotti’s
The Telephone. Comedy and drama combine as characters explore the
challenges of maintaining communication in relationships. Lyrical
melodies are juxtaposed by jazz idioms and hilarious effects. Directed
by Dr. Mari Hahn and Fran Lautenberger, set design by Anne Scott.
