Model United Nations 2004

February 27 & 28 will mark the 22nd annual Model United Nations of Alaska, hosted by the UAA Political Science Dept. This conference unites high school and college teams from across the state for two days of discussion and debate on this years topic of WATER: the Coming Crisis, all the while producing a simulation most authentic to the real United Nations. Topics covered by the various committees will include: whether access to clean water should become a recognized human right, the commodification of water, water and health, a review of World Water Assessment Report to serve as the foundation for a debate on the issue of scarcity, and international conflicts over water. The Opening Ceremonies will be on Friday from 9:00_9:30am followed by the General Assemblies held in the Wendy Williamson Auditorium, Friday the 27th from 9:30-11:30am. The Closing Ceremonies will be on Saturday the 28th from 5:30-6:00PM in the Wendy Williamson Auditorium.
